We were unable to fish or whale watch today due to extremely poor air quality, high winds and the fact that some of our personnel were forced to evacuate their homes. We have also cancelled Wednesdays trips as well for all the same reasons. The smoke plume that we are inundated by extends 250 miles to sea! Things should turn around by Thursday. Hasn't 2020 been great? In truth we are thankful we haven't been impacted more.

ODFW announced this afternoon the closure of the Non-Selective Coho Salmon season for the remainder of the year. It is amazing how quickly we caught the 2020 quota of fish. 

ODFW has announced that retention of ground fish will be allowed on all-depth Halibut. They may be retained on our boats as incidental catch, we will not be targeting them.

ODFW has announced that recreational bottom fish opens to all depths September 1. During days open to both all-depth bottom fish and all-depth halibut anglers may retain both on the same trip.

ODFW announced a change in Groundfish bag limits and species retention. Effective 7-20-20 the Rockfish bag limit has been raised to 7 per person per day from the previous 5. Retention of any of the nearshore complex of Copper, Quillback and China Rockfish is now zero. Cabezon continue to be closed for the year.
