We are getting some great fishing both up on Lake Mohave and here along the Colorado River. Up on the lake it’s mostly by boat however there are a lot of great spots by the dam along the shore line. Our local angler Fred Shipps was trolling near the dam using an umbrella rig and landed this nice stringer of stripers the larger one was 38 and 1/4 inches and 20.20 pounds. I have been hearing that up river past the power lines where the lake opens like a huge basin has some been producing some great catches and the early morning have been doing the best or late evening. Not much word on the catfish bite but the smallmouth bass have been running in the 4 to 6 pound range.
