Fine morning

A great start to the day finishing out our limits on bluefin before heading East with a few to spare in the event we found cooperative jumbos. But we didn't. Jumbos yes, cooperative no. Splendid weather was again a notable bonus. That soon is forecast to change. All good things must come to an end. A freshening breeze at our back as daylight waned we pointed her Southeast enjoying a serene ride down. More than a few minutes were spent reflecting upon the days sights and sounds. Again the showing on 10 - 200 pound bluefin tuna, and every size class in between, was mind boggling. No exaggeration necessary, no hyperbole, no overstatement. It's a sight to behold out here when they're up and showing. For certain there is no shortage. What we saw ourselves today, just one boat, was enough to support the entire So Cal Sportfishing fleet for many lifetimes to come. Let's hope that is case. Effective management has produced this result. We're doing our part. Toward the coast we now roll planning to target yellowtail and variety for the next few days out of the coming weather offshore. Enjoy today's image of the boys from a few trips past. First time offshore angler Chris Paciolla picked up this beautiful, 130 pound bluefin on his last bait of a trip. His good friends and teammates Duke and Louis helped with the lift.
