Don’t forget a jacket

More fun times at the Lake – even weather wise. Lots of people still coming up to enjoy the great outdoors although don’t think many knew about some bouts of rain, wind, thunder, lightning and cooler temps – down in the mid 30s Sunday night – that were in store for them. Lots of wind on Sunday (so much-no boat rentals) and some thunderbooms.

With all the weather in over the week, the bite has slowed a bit. Those that had some luck and caught fish were using NightCrawlers, PowerBait and the Pinched Night Crawlers. Austin Dill caught a 3-3/4 pounder using a Gold Speedy Shinner. Friends, Maury Freitas Dan Lopez and Don Continelli caught fish with Dan catching the largest – 2-pounder using a Pinched Night Crawler. Dan Shibley caught dinner for he and his family and made many many memories with his family.

The Bishop Fire Department is planning on have the firework show on the Fourth – just a bit different from an undisclosed area to prohibit gatherings. The firework show will start about 9:20pm and should be visible in the greater Bishop area.

The skeeters have made an appearance, so don’t forget the bug juice, but remember to try and keep it, your sunscreen and any other Foo-Foo juices off your hands – fish don’t like the taste or smell. It’s also Pine Pollen time – so if you’re susceptible to hay fever allergies – don’t forget the meds.

Fishing etiquette is once again becoming a bit of a problem at the Lake and we don’t like problems. If you come upon someone fishing, please don’t fish right next to them – take a bit of hike farther down and don’t cast over into their spot. Same at the Inlet, there are so many areas to fish on this Lake go find another ‘soon to be’ favorite spot. Also, DON’T FORGET TO PICK-UP YOUR TRASH!!!
