Definitely a late bite for the past few days. Aside from that the past week has been interesting. Wed-Fri last week fished very well but we had some weather roll through Saturday and I saw waves on that lake that had to have been 5-6ft high. Wasn't so bad when we left the dock, but it was very cold. The low pressure and cold temperatures put the fish down, and we only got one grab back in Beaver Cove. Fast forward to Sunday, strong north wind again in the morning but it laid down around 10am, and the fishing turned on like a light around 11 in Layton. Getting them mostly on gray and black. I was in about 20-22ft of water, anything less than like 19ft is choked with weeds already.  The last couple of days the morning bite hasn't been very good. Most of the action for me started around 10am, before that is a roll of the dice. Seeing fish spread out all over the north arm and in Layton out by where the bathroom would normally be. Lots of fish at Sandy, but again it's been a late bite. Same depth for the most part but there are fish out even deeper. Heard good reports from Hilton and that's where the bulk of the fleet has been for the last 5 days or so, also in about 22-23ft of water all along pelican point. I went in there yesterday afternoon to scope it out but the wind was blowing hard enough to make it a pain to anchor up to get the flies in the right depth. Had some friends who fished McGee yesterday (they know what they're doing) but only managed 3 fish all day. I haven't personally been in there since last week. The evening bite has been great too. If you've never fished Crowley in the evenings, you're totally missing out!
