Big Hungry
Captain Markus Medak on the New Lo-An just called in with a preliminary report from their current 1.5 day trip. They have 14 Bluefin Tuna (up to 100lbs) and 2 Yellowfin Tuna on the boat so far. They still have several more hours of fishing time and have had fantastic weather. They go out again on Wednesday night for another 1.5 day trip and have plenty of reservations available.
Captain Steve Peterson on the Mission Belle called in from the Coronado Islands. They finished the day with 70 Yellowtail in the 12 to 20 LB class, these are summer time fish biting surface iron and live bait. The Mission Belle still has room for tomorrows Coronado Island trip.
Time to go fishing. The fleet now has the green light to get back out on the water. Trips are filling up fast, so don't wait to long to book your trip.
Departing Wednesday night:
The New Lo-An has a 1.5 day trip departing at 8:00 pm. This trip is fishing offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail. Ticket price is $425.00 and includes meals and your Mexican fishing permit. Limited to 25 passengers. THIS TRIP IS A DEFINITE GO!!
The T - Bird also has a 1.5 day trip departing at 8:00 pm. They will also be fishing offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Yellowtail. Ticket price is $390.00 (Mexican fishing permit included). Meals are additional. Limited to 20 passengers.
Local trips:
The Daily Double departs twice a day for ½ day trips to the local kelp beds. Departure times are 8:30 am and 3:00 pm.
The Point Loma has local ¾ day trips scheduled every day. Departure time is 6:30 am. No passport required for this trip.
The Mission Belle is currently running full day trip to the Coronado Islands. Departure time is 6:00 am. All passengers will need a valid passport or passport card to board the boat.
Some things to keep in mind in order to be able to go forward are that social distancing practices and safe medical practices must be adhered to and are as follows:
- Any angler that has any cold or flu symptoms must stay at home.
- All anglers must wear a mask and that covers both mouth and nose.
- Anglers must keep a minimum of a 6 foot distance at all times.
- All anglers fishing on an Overnight trip or longer must bring their own pillow and blanket.
