Great day catching Shasta Lake trout!

Today was another busy day on Shasta Lake.  Lots of other boats were out and more than the usual numbers of boats were seen trolling.  The morning bite came a bit after sunrise which was good to see after a really big moon last night.  The rainbows, browns, and some small Kings were still up for a bite, and when they did, it was on!  Pretty fast action and everyone had half limits before 9:00 am. the bite continued for an hour or so and then it slowed to a dull roar.  We were patient and covered some water I've been neglecting for a few weeks.  The fish came, one here, and one there, but a light bite resulted in lots of lost trout.  My two guys hooked 27 trout and landed 15 until about 1:30 when we called it a day.  Captain Justin Thompson came in early with limits and Jeff Brady ended his short trip out after taking some really nice rainbows as well.  We may have some slower days looking ahead, but I really dont think anyone can ask for better fishing right now.  The lake surface is 75 degrees and were getting most of our fish between 30'-40' trolling Trinidad tackle Popped Eye spoons.  We're booking lake and river trips every day so please dont wait to schedule your day of fishing with us if you really want to go.  Now is the time to pick dates!
