Crane Prairie Has Been Fishing Well

5-24-2020
Fly and Field Outfitters

Crane Prairie has been fishing well as of late and it has been a very consistent early season. It’s been fairly busy on the water, however there’s plenty of room for everybody to catch some fish. The fish in the lake are still spread everywhere throughout the lake but they should start pushing into the channels within the next couple weeks as we move more into the summer season. Typical rigs we’ve had good success on have been midges, hare’s ears, and balanced leeches under indicators while others have had good success on stripping leeches with intermediate lines with long leaders. Weather looks great this coming week, with highs in the 80’s and lots of sunshine fishing should be just fine! We just got a bunch of the bruised balanced leeches back in the shop so swing by befor you head out and get your boxes all stocked up!

Recommended Dries: Chubby Chernobyl Patriot and Purple #12-14, Para- Cricket #16-12

Recommended Nymphs: Bruised Ballanced Leech #14, Two Bit Hooker #20, Zebra Midge #18-20, Super Sinker #16-18, bead wing midge #18-20, Red Pheasant Tail #14-18.
