Lower Sac report by Luke Geraty

Yesterday was really hot, both in temperature and in fishing. I think we were steady into the high 90's but we didn't mind much because the fishing was on fire! From the beginning until the end, the trout were on suicide missions and smashed just about every bug we used. Rubber legs, caddis, PMD's, yellow stones... it didn't seem to really matter. During the day we hooked two large fish that appeared to be hatchery steelhead but sadly they threw the hooks when they jumped and while we'd love to have landed them, they were a welcome surprise and gave us something to talk! Overall the action was steady and we had a great day on the river. You can't beat catching trout while wearing shorts and sandals all day!
