Great Fishing Today

3-21-2020
Dockside Charters Staff

It was a great day of fishing today although it way windy. All boats reported in the Ling Cod and Rockfish produced limit catches while crabbing absolutely stunk. If we have to take a break it is nice to finish on a high note. (well except for the crab).

Dockside Charters, Inc. of Depoe Bay has come to the very difficult decision to suspend our operations temporarily in light of the COVID-19 crisis. As leaders in the charter industry we have concluded the most responsible action we can take, in the best interest of our clients, crews and staff, is suspending operations for the short term. Initially we tried to curtail our group sizes as per the governors guidelines. As the crisis has evolved it is clear that suspending operations is our best course of action. It is our intention to evaluate conditions on a weekly basis. We will be rescheduling, refunding or issuing gift cards as needed. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes but we must do the right thing. If you have a reservation that will be impacted in the time frame indicated we will contact you. Thank you for your understanding in these difficult times. We are sailing uncharted waters. This will take effect Sunday 22, 2020. Please see our website for continuing updates at www.docksidesepoebay.com.

We are now and will continue taking on-line reservations for excursions taking place after March 29, 2020.

Garibaldi Charters, Siggi G Charters, Yaquina Bay Charters and Dockside all reached this conclusion jointly to suspend operations, not any easy decision to be sure.

We had our fleet out for Rockfish and Ling Cod today. Conditions offshore in the deep water weren't favorable for fishing out there today. Inshore the fishing was good, limits of Rockfish and the Ling Cod bite varied from one boat to another. The average was about one per rod while one boat limited on Ling too. Crabbing was slow, bordering on stinky. The forecast for tomorrow looks really good and we have space available including a Long Leader trip. We...... Read More
