Not A Lot of Change on The Lake

Not a lot of change at the lake. Fish are coming into feed early and late with the change of light and also around 2pm. The fish have been very weather dependent. Bluebird days have made the LCT very sporadic, but in spite of this a lot of big fish are still being caught. Midges are still crucial as the Tui-chub are deep in the lake where the water is warmer. The next plentiful food source for our beloved trout are chironomids. Brighter flies with a little flash in them have been fishing well on the sunnier days. In contrast, when the sun is blocked by clouds or waves caused by wind more muted fly colors should be your choice, and don’t neglect balanced leeches on slower days. This time of year it is best to pick a spot that you are confident in and to wait for the fish to come through.

Pyramid Lake Flies We Suggest: Balanced Leech (Peacock, Olive, Diablo), Holographic Midge (Albino Wino, Wine/Copper, Black/Copper)
