Santa Margarita Lake Staff
We are having perfectly warm days but frigid cold nights keeping the fish deep. Crappie are holding eggs awaiting the right time to spawn please be courteous of the females with plump light colored bellies and put them back to ensure more crappie for years to come. Catfish are scatted about the lake still hitting on mackerel and anchovies. Bass are a challenge to catch undecided on just what they are going for,. Worms haven’t helped much as all so anglers will have to take their best guess and see how it goes. Bluegill are not doing anything at all since the water is still cold.
