Grande Ronde Now in Fishable Range

Washington creel checkers found no anglers in Oregon and only one in Washington with no success. The current volume in the Grande Ronde is now out of the fishable range, in my experience. Upstream, on the Wallowa River, the creel checker talked to 10 anglers on 2/4 and 4 steelhead were reported caught, for an average of about 5 hrs/fish.

Visibility: 8 inches

Water temperature at mid-day: 40 Degrees F

Water condition: Moderately Turbid

Best time of day to fish: Late morning until dark

Best stretch: Pawatka Bridge in Oregon, downstream to the Snake and the Wallowa River in Oregon

Best access point: Troy, Oregon on Oregon Hwy 82 and WA Hwy 129

No hatches of significance for steelhead.
