Lake Jennings Staff
- Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1500 lbs. of trout the week of January 6th. An additional 1500 lbs. will be stocked the week of January 20th.
- The lake will be open all day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20th 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- New Moon Fishing: The next New Moon Fishing date is Saturday, January 25th. The lake will be open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Full sized lanterns required after 5:00 p.m.
- What's the catch? With our recent stocking, fishermen were pulling their limits of trout in Hermit Cove and Eagle Point this past weekend. Popular baits being used were rainbow powerbait, cheese powerbait, and hook-up bait with garlic scent. Our rangers recommend using half / quarter of a nightcrawler for trout as well. Bluegill were caught in Cloister Cove on green chartreuse atomic teasers. Catfish are still nibbling those delicious garlic nightcrawlers in Siesta Cove and the t-dock near the reeds.
- Conditions: The water temperature is currently 59 degrees. Mornings have been cold on the water averaging a 38-40 degree wind chill, but the afternoons are warming up nicely. Helix Water District will begin drawing water towards the end of the month, so be aware of changing shorelines.
- If you haven't visited us in the new year, our fishing and boating fees have changed. Please visit our website to review the new fees. We now offer military discounts on fishing permits for all active duty, guard, reserve, and veterans with proper military ID.
- Time to renew your California State Fishing License! Your 2019 license expired on December 31, 2019. The cost is $51.02 for the 2020 calendar year and can be renewed online by clicking HERE. We do not sell the state fishing license at Lake Jennings, but we do require that you have one with you as well as our daily fishing permit while fishing at the lake.
- We're Hiring! Love the lake as much as we do? We're looking for Park Hosts to live and work in our campground, as well as Dockhands to work weekends and holidays at the lake. For more information about our positions or to complete an application CLICK HERE.
- Join our rewards program at the Bait and Tackle Shop! Spend $100 at the Bait and Tackle Shop and receive $10 off your next purchase (equal to an adult fishing permit). Just let our staff know you'd like to join and they can quickly register you with an email and phone number.
- We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and guests! If you have a picture you'd like to share, please email them to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature them in our next lake newsletter or on social media.
