Pyramid Lake Fishing Report

Pyramid Lake Staff

Anglers have been catching stripers over the past week on cut baits from the rip rap in front of the boat shop and off points throughout the lake as well. Trolling has also been working well using lead heads, umbrella rigs or even larger kastmasters to work different depths. The bass have been biting more soft plastics either drop shots or Texas rigged baits anywhere up to 30ft throughout coves and off steeper drop offs. Some anglers have had luck using crankbaits earlier in the day and jigs with creature baits as trailers to work down deeper during the colder conditions. Trout are also still biting throughout the day both from shore and around the lake using worms, garlic powerbaits, mice tails and various spinners such as rooster tails or panther martins, typically caught up to 20ft off banks and pockets.

Lake still opens at 7am and will be closed by 5pm.
Rentals go until 1pm and are due back by 3pm the latest.
Private watercrafts may launch until 2pm and must be off the water by 4pm the latest.

Don't forget to purchase your new license for the year, DFG will be checking around the lakes and rivers!
