Weather, it has been windy during the week as it supposed to be during this time of year, and after been 3 months on a windy winter of course you got to be used to it since last Monday the wind start picking up once again but it was ok, the anglers were able to do their fishing during the first hours in the morning, we are hoping to have better weather during the month.
Yellowtail. Their caught continue to be the best, no matter how the weather is the anglers are able to do their fishing specially the ones over at the San Nicolas Fishing Camp, and concerning those in the camp we like to mention how good their fishing was during the week, They caught lots of Yellowtail, Sea Bass and Red Snappers, their caught has been very successful specially over at the points where the Yellowtail schools are, those are the best sites. Couple days a go the yellows start biting at the Pulpito reef and this ones biting with live bait and on the bottom. The average weight is 22 more or lest and some times caught some 30 ponders.
We are showing a picture from the San Nicolas Fishing Camp Group of Chris Rupe were the lucky ones who done their fishing during this week after waiting for one and a half day in town until the wind calm down to let them get across to were the camp is located, soonest this new group got in the camp they started to fish and we hear the first news on the radio about their good fishing over at Pulpito reef and San Antonio point. Also the Chris Rupe do very good while they fish in the Camp.
This is the Chris comment around the fishing this year at the camp.
Fishing at the camp was good again this year.
The first day our boat alone had 35 yellows and 5 Cabrilla in one afternoon.?? The fish were mixed 20 to 30lb's.?? Most of the fish were caught at the island with a few north of Pulpito. The average was right at 25 and the biggest went 34.?? All fish were caught on the on the iron mixed surface and yoyo.
Fishing tapered off each day with the increasing weather.
Good Fishing,
Chris Rupe
We show a picture from Chris Rupe with a lot of good size yellowtails.
