By every metric today was the best fishing that we have experienced at the island this season. Straight big fish - 80 to 135 pounds, zero sharks, deep water drifting in ideal conditions; it does not get any better. The sign of fish was incredible. The entire south end of the island out two to three miles was on. We didn’t even scratch the surface of the potential seen. Drifting along keeping one to four fish on the lines at almost all times I fish watched on the bridge when not working with the boys on deck amazed, again, by the fantastic sign and potential. By day’s end, completely sated and satisfied, we had caught plenty; enough beautiful grade yellowfin for the remainder of the trip. Variety is now the call; time to move on.
