Today’s Fish Count: 9 Boats and 188 Anglers.

1,375 Rockfish, 759 Whitefish, 28 Sheephead, 17 Lingcod, 19 Sculpin, 1 Sole, 63 Calico Bass, and 1 Mako Shark.

The boats enjoyed great weather all weekend and had some good fishing too. Lots of big Rockfish and Whitefish for all the boats today. Some tried for game fish but no bites. The Calico Bass fishing was decent for those that targeted them, and baits on the bottom brought up Sheephead. Bottom fishing has been pretty darn good as of late. Both the inner and outer island are putting out great quality.

Another big Santa Ana Wind event is forecast to hit late tonight and possibly last through Thursday. This can sometimes make for flat ocean conditions but will depend on how strong the winds actually are. Sometimes they are so strong that they reach all the way to the islands, making fishing there difficult.
