Lewiston Lake Fish Report

12-5-2008

Water Conditions:

Recent reports have been good for Lewiston Lake, not many big fish but good numbers of fish. There's been some action on emerging callibaetis in the afternoons and evenings, but the most productive fishing has been with small midges under indicators. Streamers on sinking lines are taking some of the larger fish.

Fishing Conditions:

Some callibaetis hatching in the afternoons and evenings, and midges in the early morning.

?Ģ Poxyback Callibaetis #18
?Ģ Seal Buggers Olive or Black

The Fly Shop's?? Tips: You can't go too small. The takes can be subtle and then the takes can Brutal. Strike on every twitch! Be patient, too, sometimes it takes a long, slow drift to pick up fish. A small yarn indicator is a good tip, take heed and try it.

Today we worked our way up the line. We were looking for school size Tuna and kelps hopefully holding Dorado. We got into a stop early this morning on little Tuna and Yellowtail. The problem was everything was about 6 lbs. Needless to say we did not stay very long. We worked our way outside and up and found numerous large kelps .
