1,291 Rockfish, 594 Whitefish, 28 Lingcod, 3 Cabezon, 9 Sculpin, 42 Sheephead, 5 Sand Bass, 42 Calico Bass, 1 Barracuda, 1 Sole, 3 Halibut, and 2 Yellowtail.

Channel Islands weather has been beautiful lately, and today was no different. Water is warming back up, and the sea is about as calm as it gets. Surface species are still recovering from the wind we had a few days ago, but they are starting to “pop” again. Bottom fishing is still over shallow reefs, so boats are hauling up a lot of Sheephead and Whitefish. The overnight boats had such nice weather they went all the way to San Miguel Island to fish today. Out there they caught huge Rockfish and some really nice Lings. Overall, it’s a great time to come fishing. The weather is perfect and the fishing is highly productive!
