Brian Kiyohara docked American Angler at Pt. Loma Sportfishing November 25 after a ten-day trip with 22 anglers to southern Baja.

"We had plenty of good-sized yellowfin to fill the cracks with," said Brian. "And there's a lot of cows down there, with more showing up all the time. Right now the water's five degrees warmer than it was last year, so this big tuna season may last longer, into December or January."

Lucky Reynolds of Los Alamitos won first place for a 132-pound yellowfin tuna. He took his prize-winner on a sardine and a 3/0 Mutu hook tied to 50-pound P-Line and 50-pound Power Pro Spectra on an Avet LX reel and a Calstar 700 H rod.

Jay Love of Carlsbad won second place for a 75-pound yellowfin, and Joe Skinner of San Diego won third place for a 72-pound tuna he4 got on 40-pound Blackwater flourocarbon leader.
