Modest start

A modest beginning at the island this afternoon after a standard, uneventful ride across. Our fishing fortune was thankfully saved by an evening rally after we arrived just in time to see the best action of the day come to a screeching halt. Timing is everything. Taking the small “starter kit” in stride we’ll see how tomorrow shapes up. For certain there are plenty of fish to be had. Good sign in multiple zones is encouraging for now and beyond. In addition the weather is forecast to be up and grumpy on the outside so the island lee is the place to be, catching or otherwise.

Enjoy today’s photo featuring Royal Star veteran Darrin Carter with his 50 pound class Guadalupe yellowfin.
