Riviera Marina Fishing Report

Rusty

The striper bite has slowed a bit. The early morning or early evening has been working the best here along the shores of the Colorado River. Not much word from up on Lake Mohave for much striper activity. I have heard of some smallmouth action along the shelves by the entrance to the coves on both the Nevada and Arizona side.

There has been some largemouth action back in the shallows both with various plastics producing a few nice hook ups.

Topock Marsh

In the Topock Marsh area it’s spinner baits that seem to be working well for largemouth bass. The smallies don’t like going into that area much and prefer the cooler and moving water of the river. Our local anglers Richard Erdmann and Raul Gonzales landed a nice stringer fishing from shore using anchovies in the Rio Lomas area.

Community Park area

Vicky Kinder is showing us a striper she brought in just over 1 pound and anchovies in the Community Park area. We are getting some nice schools of stripers coming through and mostly this size on up with a few in the 5- to 1-pound range. With our weather just blazing out there and the many visitors enjoying the end of summer activities, it’s best to try the evening to be able to get that favorite spot.

The trout stocking program should start in October. We will keep you posted and updates as we can get the information. Hope this helps for now and thanks for all of your support see you in soon to share that catch. Now Go Catch a Fish.
