Fishing Update

9-5-2019
Yaquina Bay Charters Staff

TUNA:
The albacore tuna are still in the 35 to 45 mile range. We have been averaging 4 to 7 fish per person on our 12 hour trips the last couple of weeks.

SALMON:
The non-selective coho season is still open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Last Saturday and Sunday's opener was pretty good fishing with averages of 0 to 2 per person depending on the day and trip. This season will be open until the quota is met. We are hoping and expecting the season to stay open through Sept. 15th.

ROCK FISH
Rock fish trips have been coming back with a lot of limits. We've seen a few lingcod. We just got the good news that off shore rock fish and lingcod season is open now through next Spring. You have a chance at those larger lingcod off shore while the ocean is still nice.

HALIBUT
The near shore halibut season is still open everyday The off shore season is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the quota is reached. We expect that to last for a couple more weeks at least. Last weekend all three boats limited. REMINDER: You can keep two halibut per person right now.

CRAB
Crab is good. We've seen anything from 5 to 10 crab per person in the ocean. Bay crabbing has been a little slower.

LETS GO FISHING (AND CRABBING)!
