South Lake Bishop

We dropped another load of trophies from Idaho last week so over the past 4 weeks we've put in over 1200lbs of fish from 1lb to 6+ lbs making for excellent fishing. ​ The DFW is trying their best to meet their obligations and have stocked the lake weekly with catchable Rainbow Trout since late June.

In the heat of the summer, early and late in the day are the best, but because the elevation at South Lake is so high at nearly 10000ft, fish can be caught all day long.

Best Baits - Salmon eggs, micetails, Salmon Peach Powerbait.

Best Lures - Sierra Slammers jigs & swimnbaits, Thomas Buoyants, Panther Martins

Best Flies - Wooly Buggers in black, olive or brown, Mosquitoes, Black Ants.

Bishop Creek

Well they finally lowered the creek flows a bit last week making for better access to the streams. Try spinners, salmon eggs or worms for the best bite.

North Lake & Intake

Great access and weekly stockings are providing decent fishing for shore anglers and float tubers.
