Rusty
Our weather has slowed the amount of anglers out and about. However the stripped bass are still moving in to escape the heat of Lake Havasu. Our waters are always cooler and we are getting a bunch of the smaller line sides all over and up and down the river. Near the Davis dam hasn’t been as good as we are hopping for. The casino area on either side of the Colorado river works and produces fish. Our Arizona license allows the holder to fish both sides of the river and to be on the river itself. Anglers used to have to have a 3.00 dollar stamp on your license. Our newest improved access location is a great spot for relaxing and or fishing, which is community park for now and this area proves to be some of our best fishing grounds. With all sizes and a few types of fish our trout program will start up in October and we might get a few stocking to help with the caddis fly issue. We have been getting some of the larger stripers coming in so have that drag set for a good run when you latch on to one of these runaway line sides. I am still getting some rumors of small mouth bass being landed on plastics in the peanut butter and jelly color, no word of catfish except from the Topoc marsh. Its anchovies and chicken livers for the catfish and spinner baits working the best for the large mouth try white or green should be your best colors to go to.
