On Saturday around 6PM, Charles Cornelison and I launched the boat out of Glory hole. Started off fishing points on the main body with jigs in about 15-20ft of water. Instantly we started catching fish in the 2 to 3lb range. Seen fish chasing bait and tried top water but no luck so I stuck to a jig and Charles threw the Swaver-168. We headed up river a bit before the sun went down to try some points with no luck so we went back to the main body where we knew their were fish. 9pm now and the sun is going down we decided to pick a bank and start flippin jigs in about  2-5ft of water, it was like a switch had been flipped every single cast we were catching fish nonstop till 2:30am.

Decided to sleep on the boat, so we could get up early and get back to fishing first thing in the morning! This 2019 921 ProXP Phoenix boat is big enough to sleep on! Started the morning off doing what we were doing the day before jigs and swavers, Charles sticks a nice one first thing in the morning on a River2Sea Swaver  168!

Around noon the bite had slowed down big time, the sun was up and the wake board boats came out. Went to look for cooler water in the creek arms, found a couple fish in 8-10ft of water on spinnerbaits. Worked our way out to the main body  again and found mud lines, using the graphs we found bait balls with schooling fish. Switched it up to an underspin with a 4inch Keitech as a trailer and it was back on! Left and right we were catching fish again!

Hope this helps you on your next trip to New Melones!
