Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report

9-28-2008
Bruce A. Smith

Today was a travel day aboard the Shogun. The Shogun crew had plenty to keep us busy, preparing gear for this trip and odds and ends to keep us in fighting shape for our Fall trips. 200# top shots for the kite rigs, keeping those teak rails scrubbed and oiled, wiring up jigs and bait rigs, wrapping new gaffs. There are always jobs waiting for us and today we chipped away at the list. None the less passengers and crew gathered up this afternoon for a friendly game of cards. The game cant get too hot and heavy as there aren't any ATM's out here. Several squid samples were jigged up during a short drift after dinner, and then it was back on course once again. Tomorrow afternoon we'll be on site, a sea mount over 260 miles off shore.
