Shasta Lake debris clears slowly!

Fishing conditions on Shasta Lake have been far from optimal, but there are signs of improvement just about daily.  Many areas of the lake have been un fishable due to floating wood and debris, but more and more areas are fishable again.  Water clarity is pretty poor in most areas of the lake, but not so bad that you should shy away from fishing for trout.  We're still getting bites every day, but its far from red hot fishing right now.  The only thing that seems to be hot on Shasta, is anything that is exposed or touched by the sunlight.  Its Just going to continue to swelter here is we inch towards summer, but in a few weeks time the heat becomes our friend on the lake.  Once the upper 10-20' becomes too warm for the fish, they will stack up where the colder water meets the warmer water to feed on the Shad.  Speaking of Shad, we're starting to see them in the main body of the lake, and that my friends, is teriffic news!  I still havent caught a trout with Shad in its belly for quite a while, but thats soon to change.  I've been fishing up higher in the lake arms, but once the debris clears out of the main body, thats where you'll find me.
