Wood

We spent our first day of this 5-day fishing venture in search of offshore yellowfin tuna. Conditions were not the best as far as visually spotting fish, due to the rolly choppy weather and poor lighting. I have to hand it to the crew's perseverance as they dealt with the tough conditions and put us on a few good stops in the morning. We then experienced a 7 hour dry spell where we couldn't find anything to stop on. Times like this is when others might fold under this type of adversity, but we are so lucky that this crew possesses the passion, desire and eyeballs to hunt them down. Right before dark we got on a spot that wanted to die. It was "straight Calcutta" as we put the wood to this beautiful grade of yellowfin tuna.

Today's picture is Taro, Chris Cruger and the good luck charm provided so generously by Lindsey Powell.

Feeling Lucky,
