Shasta Lake trout hunker down!
5-17-2019
Jeff Goodwin
I've been fishing on Shasta Lake this week and the bite has really slowed down with all this weather moving through. Surface temps dropped from 66 degrees to around 60 degrees. The cold water line is still around 30', but it varies throughout the lake. Most of our bites have been coming from the 20-30' range with the occasional 40' bite. Trolling smaller spoons some days really gets more bites, but theres a big spoon bite on other days. Of course the dodger combos are working, as well as the always effective Fire Brine Shad.
