Shellmaker Island Tour Scheduled Saturday, March 17

Join a naturalist on a free and exciting tour to see the Osprey on their new nesting platform on Saturday, March 17. The tour begins promptly at 9 a.m. at the Back Bay Science Center, located at 600 Shellmaker Rd. in Newport Beach.
Mom Osprey is currently being seen on the nest. View the two magnificent birds with a spotting scope.???? Binoculars are available.??
See a marine biologist educating high school students and watch as marine life is brought in from the bay for observational study and then released. Opportunities are plentiful to photograph a favorite fish or other marine life.
The island is a part of a 752-acre wildlife Reserve which is managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. For more information, call The Back Bay Science Center at 949-640-9956.
