14 White Seabass, 1 Halibut, 6 Lingcod, 2 Sheephead, 2 Sculpin, 115 Whitefish, and 293 Rockfish.

Today at one of the local islands the White Seabass decided to bite. Several fish were hooked and lost, but the boats managed to put a few on deck. Weighing anywhere from 25 to 40 pounds, these fish are definitely a prized catch. People always ask what the trick is to catching one of these seabass. Using fluorocarbon and light line can often increase your chance, but having “lady luck” on your side is a must. The season is young, and having this kind of fishing in early May is simply a bonus. It’s only going to get better from here on out!
