Fishing

The fish have been waiting all winter for a tasty treat.  Here are a few tips whether you are bait fishing, lure fishing, or trolling. Bait fishing: The number one bait in the Eastern Sierra is nightcrawlers.  Inflating them with an 18” lead is recommended. Another successful tip, try using Green Garlic or Rainbow Power Bait at the inlet with an 18” to 21” lead. Lure fishing: Try using the black 1/16 Rooster Tail on 4 lb. test in Zone 7 on our fishing map, which is the northwest part of the lake. Panther Martins, Kastmasters, and dark colored Marvel Flies will produce good results as well.  Trolling: Start with 4 colors of lead core line (40 yds) with a Tasmanian Devil or Needlefish in bright colors.  Fly Fishing:  For this time of the year, go with Brown or Green Wooley Buggers, or Soft Hackle Nymphs.
