The trout bite is going strong here below the Davis Dam along the Colorado river. I have been hearing that the sunshine peninsula has been giving up limits as well as Rotary park area. This means that at the park you should try the shoreline and watch for the ripples. In the morning the trout are rising to feed on the caddis fly. I have been getting reports that spinners are doing well along with power bait and night crawlers. Our local angler Elmer Davies and his visiting family Eric Slletta were fishing off Elmer's dock and Eric's step son Cody Rea ( 9 years old) landed this 5.32 pound rainbow at 22 and 1/2 inches. The Rainbow trout that have been brought in have been in the 1 pound range at around 12 to 14 inches. The Striper bite is starting to pick up some.. the evening seems to be working a bit better for stripers and again rotary park has produced a few in the 2 to 4 pound range with anchovies doing well.

Lake Mohave the fishing has been a bit slow the large and small mouth bass are in spawn with them guarding their nests our weather conditions for the lake have been a bit windy. Its just been a little slow at the lake so far soon to change.

At Topock Marsh our local anglers Dayton Grant and Willie Black stopped in to share their catch of large mouth bass. Dayton was showing off his 4.96 pound Largemouth bass at 20 and 7/8 inches. this fishing team were using spinner baits in white and a green to produce a close to limit stringer. For large mouth and small mouth bass the limit is 6 each and have to be at least 13 inches. This time of year it’s better to catch and release this game fish but game and fish say it’s ok and shouldn’t bother the fish count.

A reminder we are going to have a fishing derby. It’s a Bullhead City striper derby hosted by Riviera Marina. This is going to be a fun event and we are encouraging the public to come out talk with our anglers and our raffle is open to all and is going to rock.more on this event to follow but it will be on the 8th and 9th of June and sign up now at our shop or on line at the Bullhead city's website. Hope this helps some and we will see you in soon to share that catch. Thank you for all of your support!
