Weekly fish report - week ending 9/4/08

This fish report is from Pete Hillis reporting out of Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja Mexico for the week ending September 4, 2008.

The weather has been beautiful. Business has been picking up - we another 25 boats out this week. The wind was blowing slightly when I left San Quintin on Wednesday morning. In a phone call down to San Quintin today, the wind has completely died down. The white seabass bite has really picked up to the south in front of the La Pinta Hotel and further down at Socorro. Large chrome chrocs seem to be the only thing they are hitting. There were a few yellowtail and a lot of large barracuda mixed in with the white seabass. You may want to think about a wire leader so you don't loose too many chrocs to the barracuda. Notables this week were George Alfaro and his wife, Saimi. They fished 3 days on a panga with Captain Miguel and got limits of white seabass, yellowtail and too many barracuda.

Thanks.
