Looks like there is a chance that we are currently receiving the last of the big cold storms of the season. I know that we will still have some storms, but we are hoping that they large cold crazy ones have now passed.

The Truckee river is moderately high currently. Bouncing around 1,600-1,800 cfs. This can be a challenging level but one can be rewarded with great fish with the right approach. Pyramid Lake should start to get really good from here through Memorial Day. Maybe even into June if the water stays cool. Both standard approaches are still working. Retrieving (stripping) boobies and beetles on sinking lines can be good one day and then fishing floating lines, with or without indicators, with Marabou Midge can crush it the next... We have been testing some great new marabou we had made especially for the shop. UV enhanced marabou from Jay Fair. Combine great marabout with UV enhancement and we have found a fly pattern that really works. These are available now in the shop and online. Check them out.
