Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report
8-20-2008
Bruce A. Smith
Instead of following the pack to one or the other islands, Shogun splintered off and fished a couple of other spots that have been left "unattended" in hopes of some yellowtail action early in the trip. And yellowtail we did find. For the first day of fishing we put on 94 yellowtail that ranged in size from 12 pounds upwards to 25 pounds. Most of these fish ate the vertical "yo-yo" jig, but a few came up to eat fly-lined baits. It was a great way to start off the trip, though our weather isn't the greatest(not the worse either) no one seemed to notice. Funny how that works.
