Hi Gang,

We awoke to a flat calm ocean and a beautiful sunrise this morning. The coffee in the galley is fresh and Chef Brian is making biscuits and gravy with eggs to order for breakfast. Looking back at the time we spent fishing The Bank, there were a few different techniques that seemed to make a difference on both tuna and wahoo. For the tuna, most of our fish came on the flylined sardine set up. The guys that had the most success were the guys that adjusted their gear and fished a smaller diameter fluorocarbon and dropped down one hook size. Steve Kiesel made this adjustment with great success and was fishing 100# Seaguar Premier fluorocarbon and a 3/0 ringed circle hook. Everyday we would have wahoo come through at different times of the day. The guys that switched to wahoo gear quickly once these fish showed up had the most success. Stephen Sotelo had the hot hand with the casting jigs and was fishing the bimini twist on 50# mono straight tied to a Raider jig. He did very well using this technique and landed at least a few wahoo everyday. Pete Wight went the other direction in his method of targeting wahoo and used the light line, light wire technique. Pete was fishing 30# mono to 27# single strand wire and a #1 live bait hook. Pete did so well using this technique that he boated his trip limit of wahoo in just 3 days and then was hooking and handing after that. All in all, we did very well with our time at the Bank. The big fish while at the Bank was landed by our good friend Craig "Nebraska" Chamberlin and tapped out at 177 lbs. Strong work Craig! Now we are lining ourselves up to target big yellowfin tuna for the final stage of our trip. We will prepare tackle today and will be on scene in hopes of having some opportunities at fish over 200 pounds tomorrow. Life is good.
