Island Spirit SFR Charter
8-10-2008
Homan Khaki
A great time was had by all on our SFR Charter aboard Captain Greg Ewart's Island Spirit out of Captain Hook's Sportfishing. We rounded up 35 anglers and headed to the Channel Islands with high hopes for the elusive White Seabass. The summer bite has definitely been hot with plenty of Seabass, Baracuda, Calico Bass and Rockfish in the mix. We slid up to Arch Rock at Anacapa Island where a local sportboat hit 78 White Seabass the day before. We metered fish all morning but they just weren't biting for anyone in the fleet.
We ventured to the backside of the Island for some Calico Bass and a couple Halibut, and then we checked Santa Cruz to see if any fish wanted to bite there. We had a steady Calico bite fishing the kelp but we were hungry for Seabass and Captain Greg's persistence finally paid off as we returned to Anacapa for several nice fish! The Island Spirit and its Crew make for a fabulous experience fishing the Northern Channel Islands. Whether it's an Open Party trip or a Charter, Captain Greg Ewart puts you on the fish! Check out their schedule and book your next trip online.
