Good morning folks. Yesterday was our first day of fishing. We spent the day offshore and found great results on kelp paddy fishing. Seems to be more Dorado than yellows now but the action was definitely there. The typical kelp size fish with a few standouts throughout the day. One tip for you anglers is you do not want to drop in early on these kelps. Dropping in early usually ends up in massive tangles. Most of the larger fish taken of the kelps are hooked after the small fish have charged the boat. The large dorado cruise back about 50 feet off the stern so a good cast with a hot bait will get you the better size fish on these kelps. Try the yo-yo iron if you want a keeper size yellowtail. With fish on the boat we decided to head out and see if we could come up with a few Jack pot fish.

So far nothing doing but the conditions are good and we have all day. Good weather we just need fish We will report again tomorrow.

It lasted until we got up to the kelp and gave the people a birds eye view of Killer whales in action. We stopped after the whales were finished and picked up 31 dorado and a few keeper size yellows. It was a nice way to finish off the...... Read More
