Best bets for weekend fishing:

  • Ocean rockfish are still on the bite with limits being caught.
  • Fall Chinook fishing is coming into its prime in coastal bays.
  • Trout in Diamond and Willow lakes and Lost Creek Reservoir in the SW Zone.
  • Hatchery summer steelhead in the middle and upper Rogue River.
  • Trout in higher elevation lakes like Detroit, Dexter, Foster and North Fork reservoirs and Harriet, Timothy and Trillium lakes in the Willamette Zone.
  • Monster redband and brown trout in the Woods and Williamson rivers.
  • Trout in several SE Zone waters like the Chewaucan River, Cottonwood Meadows, Chickahominy and Krumbo reservoirs and Delintment Lake.
  • Spring holdover trout in Jubilee and Pendland lakes in the NE Zone.
  • Walleye in the Bonneville and John Day pools of the Columbia River.
