Wild Horse Sanctuary
Take home a loveable symbol of the American West!
An estimated 15 young wild horses ranging in age from 1 year to 3 years, in a rainbow of colors will be available for adoption, Saturday, September 8 through Sunday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the sanctuary located at 5796 Wilson Hill Road, Shingletown.
Youngsters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Adoption fees for each horse are set based on age, gender, and degree of handling/training and range from $150 to $350. Additional photos and information are available on the WHS Adoption Facebook page.
Potential adopters must complete an Adoption Application, which can be downloaded at http://www.wildhorsesanctuary.org/help-adopt.html.
Adopters must have the ability and financial means to care for a wild horse, and undergo an interview with Wild Horse Sanctuary staff to ensure their facilities are adequate for accommodating a wild horse, and that they understand adoption regulations.
"With love and care these youngsters will grow to be intelligent, sure-footed, and loyal. And, with a little patience and training, they will become great companions." -Dianne Nelson, Co-Founder, Wild Horse Sanctuary.
The Wild Horse Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and protection of America's wild horses and has provided a haven for rescued wild mustangs and burros since 1978. Located near Shingletown, Ca, approximately 170 miles northeast of Sacramento, these disappearing symbols of the American West roam free and live out their natural lives within the 5,000 acre sanctuary. The annual Adoption Day is a humane way for the Wild Horse Sanctuary to effectively manage its herd of approximately 300 wild mustangs.
