We started our day hooking into 5 or so of these giant bluefin in the dark. From then on it was steady visual action on our balloon baits. Very exciting style of fishing. We were able to keep at least one fish going for most of the day. With many attempted misses and non committal strikes, we then were forced to leave the hot zone temporarily for navy bombing operations. At this point we had 13 fish in the hold and were searching for more. In the afternoon when we made it back into the zone and were greeted immediately after stopping on a giant school by boiling 150 to 250 pounders all around the boat but it wasn't until 1200 midnight when they wanted to eat the flat fall jigs. We ended the day with 20 bluefin total 5 of which were over 200 pounds.
