Another Great Day

Hi Gang,
We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise this morning over coffee to start our day. The ocean was calm with a light wind out of the northwest. Our current was pulling back similar to what we had yesterday and we were all excited for this fishing day to begin. Things started out slow with only a few fish by the time breakfast service was over. We managed one tuna, 2 yellowtail, and one dorado by 0800. We starting getting busy on yellowtail around 0900 and it was yo yo jig fishing and dropper loop rigs that were doing the best. And then right aroud noon things got interesting. Everything livened up and we started catching bigger yellowtail and yellowfin tuna on the flylined baits. We had about a 2 1/2 hour window were it was pretty much wide open on yellowtail in the 18 to 30 pound range and yellowfin tuna that were 16 to 40 pounds. To say we had a great day of fishing is an understatement. It was epic. All of the guys had a blast and with everyone satisfied with fish in the wells and tired arms, we started working our way north in the late afternoon. Our chefs served a rack of lamb dinner that was outstanding. For dessert we had bazookie, a scoop of ice cream served over a warm, fresh baked cookie and celebrated Travis Weber's birthday who turned 21 today. Life is good. Thanks for checking in, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
