Windy weather prevented us from fishing the ocean so we fished the Rogue Bay in Gold Beach instead. Peak season for salmon is August, but there are already fishable numbers in the bay. Red-tail surfperch also are thick, and while normally fun to catch, they make trolling difficult at times as they shred your baits. We hooked three kings and landed two.
