The guys spent the entire day looking at mouth watering spots of bluefin tuna that tantalized and tormented hardly giving up a bite. Devils!! The sheer quantity of bluefin tuna offshore, now abundant in both US and Mexican waters, is a sight to behold. Rest assured that our day of reckoning will come. From 180 miles south to 70 miles northwest of San Diego and beyond bomber spots of bluefin are showing no inclination of moving. It's going to be a long season with them around. Today's photo has made the rounds but is worth sharing in today's narrative. This gigantic spot of foaming bluefin was captured on film by SAC spotter pilot Tom Green two days prior. Estimated at 200 tons, this was one of about ten spots this size in a twenty square mile area north of the border. And there were plenty more beyond. Thank you to Tom for sharing this image and others. Blow it up and study just how many individual fish are visible. Incredible!

We worked up the beach finding just a little bit of rockfish for the frying pan until dark. We will be in at 07:00 tomorrow. ...... Read More
