Ebbets Pass Corridor Report!

Fish Reports Staff

Ebbetts Pass is now open to Markleeville. The East Fork Of The Carson has been running high due to snow melt. You can check the flows of our rivers by going to dreamflows.com.

Season opener for our rivers and streams was Saturday, April 28th. Unfortunately we did not receive our first plant until this week. This was due to a flash flood at the Moccasin Hatchery. I have been in touch with the Fish and Wildlife Department and was told that we would be receiving our fish this year from the American River Hatchery. I have been told that we will be receiving a increase in our plants but not as frequent due to logistics. Feel free to contact our DFW representative, Ben Ewing. His contact number is 1-530-906-3934.

Lake Alpine has thawed and can be fished around the ramp and on the other side where Silver Creek comes in the lake. Lake Alpine has been producing some awesome catches as Alpine County dumped a big load of trout just before winter.

The road to Spicer is now open to four wheel drive trucks, but is not advised to take a boat to Spicer according to the Forestry Department. They have filled in the one washout with rock. A permanent fix is due to be completed by mid July. I will keep everyone updated as to their progress and availability. WARNING!! HOBART CREEK IS CLOSED TO FISHING UNTIL JULY 1st.

Camping is still limited to disperse camping as the Forestry Department have not opened any camp sites for the year. You can also contact Big Trees State Park for additional camping places.

White Pines was planted on Friday May 4th . The DFW planted White Pines with a large plant. There is still a considerable number of fish to be caught.  Blagen Road is now open. The new bridge is in.

Plan to purchase your fishing license ahead of time. We are the only retailer on the Highway 4 corridor that sell them and never know when our machine could go down.
