Tree Hazard
3-13-2018
Oregon State Marine Board
The Oregon State Marine Board checked in today with ORFR to let everyone know of a tree hazard on the McKenzie River. The Lane County Marine Patrol report a significant hazard to navigation on the McKenzie River, approximately 1/2 mile downstream of the Deer Creek Rd. Bridge. Three trees have fallen, the center one, with a significant root wad. Boaters are urged to put in downstream of this obstruction. Lane County is working with the Forest Service (who are signing nearby boat ramps) and the Marine Board to determine the best course for mitigation. Friends from the McKenzie River Guides have also offered their assistance.
