Angler Education Instructor training March 17 in Springfield – Register by March 12

Become a volunteer Angler Education Instructor for ODFW and help others learn to fish!

ODFW’s Aquatic and Angling Education Program staff will host a free training Saturday, March 17, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Oregon Department of Forestry, 3150 Main Street, Springfield. Lunch is provided.

Pre-registration is required by March 12. Contact Janice Copple at 503-947-6019 or janice.b.copple@state.or.us to register.

The training is open to anyone 18 years of age or older and interested in becoming a volunteer instructor. Training covers all elements of the program’s curriculum including basic fishing skills, stewardship, aquatic resources, and water safety. Participants also learn about events and other volunteer opportunities in Lane County.

New anglers or those interested in taking up the sport are encouraged to attend as the training provides an opportunity to network with other volunteer fishing groups in the area.
